Lake Nakuru National Park’s claim to fame is anchored on its Flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the Rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of Flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the Black and White Rhino. Lions, Waterbuck, Buffalo and Baboons are all residents here.
Meals and Overnight: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge or Similar (HB)Day 04: Masai Mara Game Reserve
After the early morning game drive and breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara Game Reserve; Kenya’s most spectacular game reserve, through the sweeping expanse of the Rift Valley. You will arrive for lunch at your overnight accommodation and have some relaxing time till 1600hrs when you will have your game drive. You will return in the evening to relax, have your dinner and overnight.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve covers 700 Square miles of magnificent wilderness. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. It’s the land of African legend: Lion are abundant throughout the park, as are the elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle species and zebra. Cheetah and leopard are also regularly seen and, less commonly, rhino. The annual wildebeest migration, one of nature’s few remaining wildlife spectacles, occurs in the Mara where the big animals and their predators are to be present in abundance. Several species of Bee-Eater, the flying rainbow that heads the list of the Mara’s birds, occur in the reserve. As well as wildlife, the Masai Mara is also home to many members of the colorful Maasai tribe who may be seen around the borders of the park – Morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders grouped under a tree discussing matters of the day.High Season Special Offer

Meals and Overnight: Mara Base Camp Lodge (FB)Day 05: World’s Biggest Wildlife Theatre.
You will have a full day in the Mara with an option of doing an early morning game drive at 0630hrs before breakfast and an afternoon game drive at 1600hrs or depart for a full day game viewing with picnic lunch that will take you to the Mara River to see the hippos and the crocodiles. You can also opt to take a balloon safari which will be followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush (extra cost). An optional visit to a Maasai Boma (homestead) will reveal their outstanding culture and customs (on complimentary).
Balloon Safari: Depending on where you are staying, you will be picked up very early in the morning and be transferred by a 4×4 jeep to the launching site at 0500hrs. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing and watch the inflation of your balloon. It’s a dawn take off, rising as the sun rises and floats in whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. At other times he will ascend to 1000ft or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Maasai Mara. From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the powerful whisper burners. In between these burns, there is silence apart from the natural sounds below. Upon landing, you can observe the complete deflation of the balloon envelope and be ready for a full bush breakfast. Out of Africa Breakfast: Imagine sitting at a table under the shade of a classic umbrella tree on the Maasai Mara Plains. The table is laid with bone china and king’s silver cutlery.
Meals and Overnight: Mara Base Camp (FB)Day 06: Departure
You will have the usual 0600hrs game drive and then return to your lodge for breakfast and checkout. Ol Tukai Provides a very unique wildlife theatre every single morning. Large numbers of Elephant herd travel miles to the swamp and they pass right in front of Ol Tukai as from 0800hrs – 0930hrs every day. Best part is this phenomenon can be viewed from the comfort of your room veranda. After checkout drive back to Nairobi in time to catch your flight back home.
